Vancouver Whitecaps 2 vs Swope Park Rangers – June 12th 2016

Blue skies greeted around 1,500 fans at UBC Thunderbird Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as the home town WFC2 took on Swope Park Rangers.

The Caps opened the scoring after 15 mins after Marco Bustos fired on net following some sustained pressure on the SPR goalmouth. In a half that was dominated largely by the home team another goal from Marco Bustos saw the Caps 2-0 up at half time.

15-yo Alphonso Davies came of the bench in the second half to blast home a beauty from just inside the box to take the Caps to 3-0.

Swope Park Rangers finally got on the board in the 86th minute, with a great shot from Mark Anthony  Gonzalez. Another goal two minutes later had the home fans wondering if another game was going to snatched from them late in the day.  Some resolute defending saw the team through for a final score of 3-2.
